What To Serve With Baked Boneless Chicken Thighs
My go-to sides for Baked Boneless Chicken Thighs are steamed rice or Roasted Red Potatoes. The potatoes roast at the same temperature for about 10 minutes longer than the chicken, so I just put them in first on the top rack, then slide the chicken in on the bottom rack. The potatoes need to be flipped about halfway through, so at that point, I rotate the pans .

What Temperature To Bake Chicken Thighs
I recommend baking chicken thighs at 450 degrees F, because the high temperature will make the skin super crispy and the inside juicy. You can also bake them at 400 or 425 degrees F, but it will take longer.
I actually dont recommend oven baked chicken thighs at lower temperatures like 350, or even 375. Not only does it take longer, but in my testing the meat was less tender and the skin less crispy.

Why I Love Chicken Thighs
- Dark chicken thigh meat is juicier and far less prone to drying out than white breast meat.
- While many think white meat is healthier, this is hardly the case. Chicken thighs are packed with nutrition. Compared to white meat, dark meat has more iron, zinc, vitamin B-12, thiamine, and other nutrients too. Bring on the chicken thigh recipes!
- Yes, dark meat has more fat than white, but its still a very lean, healthy protein.
- Bone-in chicken has more flavor and is juicier than boneless chicken because the bone flavors the meat from the inside and helps retain moisture .
- Its a bargain! Per pound, dark meat is less expensive than white meat, and bone-in chicken is less expensive than boneless.
Plenty Of Sauce For Drizzling
The other nice thing about this recipe is that theres plenty of a lovely syrupy sauce to spoon over the chicken and everything else on your plate.
The sauce is the reason why I like to bake AND broil/grill chicken thighs. While you get better caramelisation by just broiling, you dont get pan juices.
And for this quick meal, I want sauce because then it minimises the effort I have to go to for the sides! Mop all the sauce up with some crusty bread, or for something a little different, try this speedy Garlic Mashed White Beans . ~ Nagi x

- For the spice mix Brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. This blend has a bit of a sweet and spicy BBQ flavor. You can always customize the mix to match your tastes.
- Avocado oil or butter Oil gives some added flavor to the thighs and helps them to brown. I use avocado oil because it has a lower smoke point than olive oil. What To Make With Crispy Chicken Thighs
Serve up these crispy oven baked chicken thighs with an easy side dish:
- Potatoes Roasted or mashed are popular options, but I prefer healthier mashed cauliflower or roasted rutabaga instead.
- Rice Regular white or brown rice, or cauliflower rice.
- Vegetables Try roasted asparagus, green beans almondine, sauteed zucchini or mushrooms, or a mix of oven roasted vegetables.
- Salad Healthy salads always pair well with chicken!
- Sauces These chicken thighs are already super crispy and juicy, but if you want a sauce, you can serve BBQ sauce or honey mustard on the side.
How To Tell Your Chicken Thighs Are Done
Overcooking is the enemy of juicy, tender chicken thighs.
The best way to tell if your chicken is cooked properly is to use an instant-read meat thermometer inserted at the thickest part.
- This is the absolute best one and well worth the purchase price. It reads temps instantly and is dead accurate.
- This inexpensive model still works well and can save your dinner.
Chicken should be cooked to 165 degrees F. I remove my chicken several degrees early and let it rest, as the temperature will continue to rise.
- Resting allows the meat to come to a safe temperature.
- It also is necessary so that the juices have time to reincorporate into the chicken.
Tid Det Tager At Tilberede Kyllingelr I En Langsom Komfur

Avocado Oil & Sesame Oil: Avocado oil and a touch of sesame oil add richness of flavor to the chicken marinade. Because sesame oil has a very potent flavor, you dont need very much. If you love sesame oil, you can ramp up the amount if youd like.
Fish Sauce: While fish sauce may seem intimidating if youve never tried it, it adds to the richness, salt content, and umami flavors of the dish. It is customarily used in many Asian dishes, so I recommend picking some up if you enjoy cooking Asian food at home. Is It Okay To Leave The Skin On
Because chicken skin is very fatty, some people prefer to remove it. It really comes down to your personal preference on texture and meat. I was raised not eating a lot of fat or skin so I’m still getting used to more tender cuts of chicken and meat. However, it can be beneficial to leave the skin on because there’s often more flavor. This is because the extra fat helps to keep moisture inside of the meat as it cooks.
Also, chicken bones release moisture. As a result, when you cook boneless, skinless chicken thighs, keep in mind that they tend to dry out more quickly. You really have to watch your cooking time with boneless thighs.
