The fast food giant will be bringing the following sandwiches to their menu the brand-new Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich, the returning American Original Chicken Sandwich and the Italian Original Chicken Sandwich.

The Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich will feature a lightly breaded chicken breast with ghost pepper cheese and crispy-fried jalapeños on a sesame seed bun, as Thrillist notes.

As fans know, the returning American Original Chicken Sandwich will include lightly breaded chicken topped with crisp lettuce and creamy mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun, according to Burger King.

The Italian Original Chicken Sandwich will contain lightly breaded chicken with marinara sauce and melted Mozzarella cheese on a sesame seed bun.

While all of these options sound delicious, some fans are taking to Twitter to express that the only menu item they wanted to see in 2023 is the ChKing sandwich, which Burger King replaced in early 2022 with the BK Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich line .

It depends on what type of sandwich youre looking for. The Spicy Chicken Jr at 386 calories is a good choice for a low-calorie option. However, if youre in the mood for something more filling, the Spicy ChKing Deluxe Sandwich at 1,498 calories is sure to satisfy.

Burger Kings latest entries in the so-called fast-food chicken sandwich wars are the American, Mexican and Italian Original Chicken Sandwiches. All of the new sandwiches will feature a lightly-breaded chicken breast on a long sesame seed bun. The American has lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and mayonnaisea classic, as one would expect. The Mexican has ghost pepper cheese and crispy fried jalapenos, while the Italian features mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce.

Both the Italian and the American are throwbacks to menu items from the late 1980s, at which time there was also a French chicken sandwich, with mayo, ham and Swiss cheese. The Mexican replaces the French in the lineup in 2023.

Does Burger King Serve Breakfast

Burger King offers breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., whether ordering in-restaurant or for delivery. Make sure to try the small hash browns. Youll be amazed.

However, please note that hours may vary by location, so its best to check with your local Burger King to confirm their breakfast time hours.

If your Burger King is open 24 hours, their breakfast menu may start earlier than 6 a.m.

• 3 cups of all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon fine sea salt

• 1 cup whole milk, 95f

• 2.5 teaspoons instant yeast

• egg wash: 1 egg plus 1 teaspoon of water, beaten together

• Untoasted sesame seeds for topping

Chicken:

• 1lb chicken breast, ground up

• 1/4 lb pork fatback, ground up

• 2 teaspoons kosher salt

• 2 teaspoons garlic powder

• 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast

• 3/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

• 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

• 1.5 cups all-purpose flour

• 2 eggs beaten with a splash of water

• 1.5 tablespoon water

• 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs

• vegetable oil for frying

• 1.5 tablespoons dijon mustard

Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich

The Mexican version of the lineup has a spicy queso sauce and crispy jalapeño, and it has gotten some flack from customers who say that simply adding queso and jalapeño does not make something Mexican.

The look: This sandwich was the plainest looking of the three, with no cheesy, melty bits sticking out. The bun, despite being a little squished, looked soft and had pops of sesame seeds.

The taste: Luckily, it didn’t taste as plain as it looked, but it definitely needed some help. The queso sauce was subtly spicy and tasted cheesy with hints of red pepper, but there wasn’t enough of it to add good moisture to the sandwich. The crispy jalapeño were our favorite part because they added a different texture to the flat sandwich and weren’t too spicy. With more queso and maybe a fresh element this sandwich has potential. Maybe see if you can get some extra queso on the side!

Burger King Reveals International Original Chicken Sandwiches

You may remember a few days ago when we here at Guilty Eats reported that Burger King had decided to go back to basics when it comes to their chicken sandwiches. They are apparently refocusing their attention on their Original Chicken Sandwich which has been around for decades.

And really who can blame them? After the whole ChKing fiasco and the less then enthusiastic response to the Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich that replaced it, why not go back to what worked and has been working for a long time.

However, that seemingly includes more than just the Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich that we talked about last week. Its being reported by Chewboom that it also includes a trio of new version of the chicken sandwich each inspired by a different part of the world. Burger King is calling them their International Original Chicken Sandwich lineup.

I know, catchy name, right?

Tips For Fried Chickn:

• If using Gardein Chickn products, thaw them overnight in the fridge or on the counter top for about an hour. DO NOT microwave or youll end up cooking them and they wont be pliable.
• Use an electric Deep Fryer like this FryDaddy.
• If not using an electric deep fryer, get a deep fry thermometer. You can use a different one if you fry in a pan, but for my money, the deep fry thermometer has been a big help. I like to fry at 375° F.
• Use a wire rack after frying to prevent the chickn from steaming itself and getting soggy. You can also keep the Fried Chickn warm in the oven on a wire rack. Just set the oven to lowest setting possible. Mine goes down to 170° F as an example.
• Dont use olive oil to fry. You need to use something with a high smoke point, I usually fry with peanut or vegetable oil.
• For the vegan buttermilk, really let the plant-milk and vinegar sit for a good 5 -10 minutes. I have found that different plant-milks will thicken more or less. If its not thick enough, add some more vinegar.
• Shake off the excess flour and batter when you dredge.
• You can freeze these for later, just Air Fry to reheat . Or if using an oven, preheat to 400° F and let the Chickn sit at room temperature while the oven heats up. Then cook on a wire rack for 10 15 minutes.

Its been said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So there is no bigger compliment than having a competitor directly imitate one of your products !

Shake Shack’s Chick’n Shack

I’ve always found Shake Shack’s burgers and fries overrated, so I didn’t exactly have high expectations for their chicken. Sadly, I was right. Aside from the fact that they tried to make me wait for it in the rain , the chicken patty was small and sad-looking, especially for an $8 sandwich. It also had way too much herb mayoalmost as much as it had chicken. A few hours later, I got a bad stomach ache that lasted the rest of the day. This was the most expensive sandwich on the list, and I have nothing positive to say about it.

The look: The sandwich had yellow American spilling over the sides and hints of lettuce and tomato. It looked substantial, and the calories tell that story, as it has the most of the three.

The taste: We didn’t expect to like this sandwich as much as we did. The crunchy chicken patty went so well with the soft tomato, and crisp lettuce that had absorbed some of the mayo so it turned into almost a juicy salad on top. We kept going back to this one for more bites, as all of the elements kept the palate primed for more. This is a classic for a reason.
