Kfc Launches New Hot Chicken Sandwich With Free Milk Across Canada
KFC has been releasing some out-of-this-world items recently, but the brands newest drop is one you can actually bite into: the Kentucky Scorcher.
This new sandwich is the spiciest creation to come from the brand in a while. Its made from 100% Canadian chicken breast thats been doused in KFCs signature Scorcher sauce, spicy mayo, and crunchy pickles on a toasted bun.
This sauce hits a Scoville level of 13,500, which is more than double the level of Tabasco.
Because this creation is so dang spicy, the chain will be offering FREE milk with every purchase of the sandwich, while supplies last.
Spicy offerings these days are made for the masses and lack the intensity Canadians are craving, so we set out to create a sandwich that truly delivers on heat, said Ira Dubinsky, Brand and Innovation Director, KFC Canada.

What Is The Kentucky Scorcher
Aiming to separate true heat lovers from the “mildly spicy pretenders,” the Kentucky Scorcher is currently only available in Canada and features chicken breast coated in the Carolina Reaper pepper-based Scorcher sauce.
According to the company, the Scorcher reaches a Scoville spice level of 13,500 above the popular Tabasco hot sauce but below Frito-Lay’s Hot Cheetos.

Evolution Of A Chicken Sandwich
First things first: Calling it “Korean fried chicken” is a misnomer. Korean fried chicken is an actual, defined thing: chicken fried with an eggshell-crisp coating of cornstarch slurry. I even have a recipe for it.
The recipe I’m talking about today is more like Southern-style fried chicken with Korean flavors. It takes some influence from Nashville hot chicken and fast food chicken sandwiches as well. On the menu at Wursthall, we’ve been reluctantly calling it “K2FC”Kenji’s Korean fried chicken. I get embarrassed seeing my name printed on the menu like that, but my partner insists.*
*Strangely, it’s a secondhand kind of embarrassment. I look at the menu and think, Ooohhh, who’s that Kenji guy who decided to name a dish after himself? Yikes.
The very first time I made this sandwich, it was at a friend’s house in Jamaica Plain, near Boston. The idea of marinating chicken in kimchi brine had just struck me. I already knew that pickle juice makes a great brine for fried chickenaside from adding flavor, the high salt content alters the protein structure of the chicken so that it retains more moisture as it cooks, and the acidity has a tenderizing effect. The same should work with kimchi brine.
So we tried it. It was a pretty quick-and-dirty affairessentially my five-ingredient fried chicken sandwiches, made with kimchi in place of picklesbut it was promising.
